Try these 3 tricks to get happier today!
1. Listing what you're thankful for isn't just for when you're sitting around the Thanksgiving table. Write down 5 things you are most thankful for today. You don't have to share this with anyone, it is just meant to be a reminder of all the great things you have in your life! For example, you can be thankful for a friend's kindness, your health, or something you're looking forward to today.
2. Take one hour where you “disconnect” and go for a walk or get moving in another way. These days, technology makes us constantly available and it’s great to take a brief break each day to focus on yourself! You’ll find yourself feeling relaxed without the constant stream of notifications pinging on your phone.
3. Turn your car into a classroom! Pick a podcast that is interesting to you and teaches you something that you didn’t know before you left your driveway. Anything from pop culture to economics can be exciting and make your commute more enjoyable. Not sure where to start? Happiness doesn’t have to come from huge overhauls making massive changes to your lifestyle. By just making the most of what you already have, you can become happier today!
